The buyers' own pages
Who buys company email data for AI, and how they take it
Updated
Several organisations now ask companies for their mail by name. Their pages differ on what they take, how an owner starts, and what is stripped out before a buyer sees it.
The ones that name email
Mercor lists Gmail messages and metadata among the sources a company connects. Mode buys email and calendar data as business conversations and coordination, and License Your Data asks for a company's email, Slack and Microsoft Teams going back years, calling it what the labs want most.
When the company is closing
SimpleClosure's AssetHub takes the operational data of companies that are winding down, naming communications, documents, designs, tickets and workflows. A closing company's mail is sold by its directors before it is dissolved, or by its administrator, liquidator or trustee when it is insolvent.
What happens to the names in the mail
Mercor says its extraction and anonymisation are automated and that no buyer sees raw data. Mode removes sensitive material and transforms personal identifiers in the agreed copy, and License Your Data removes names, client names, emails, phone numbers and account numbers before delivery.
