About Sell Email Archive to AI
We are a small team that has spent the time with Global Relay's master terms, Proofpoint's wind-down clause and the SEC and HMRC retention rules so that a company holding years of mail does not have to; every answer here links the stored document behind it, and the person who wrote the board answers your enquiry.
Why we built this
A mail archive is owned by the company but held under one or two vendors' contracts, still bound by retention rules and full of other people's personal data. This site puts those three things beside the buyers that ask for email before any figure is discussed.
Meant for
Directors, general counsel and compliance officers at companies with years of mail in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or a journaling archive, and the administrators and advisers handling a company that is closing or being sold.
Inside this site
The core is one question, "sell email archive to ai", and a quote form that needs no login. Around it sit 4 guides. There is also a citable data table (figures and method) and the pages we read to build it.
- How long should business emails be kept? US and UK rules: How long should business emails be kept? The SEC, FINRA, IRS, EEOC and HIPAA periods in the US and Companies Act, HMRC and FCA periods in the UK, quoted.
- Can you sell company emails? The law on passing mail on: Can you sell company emails? What the Stored Communications Act, UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act and bankruptcy and insolvency law say before mail changes hands.
- Who buys company email data for AI, and how they take it: Who buys company email data for AI: data partners, brokers and closing-company buyers that name email, Gmail or Outlook, what they ask for and how they strip names.
- Selling an email list versus licensing an email archive: Selling an email list is selling contact details; AI buyers ask for the threads instead. Why a list of addresses is the part of company email they say they do not want.
Limits
- We do not rate or recommend any archiving vendor or mail service; each row is the vendor's sentence and our reading of it.
- We never ask for mailboxes, exports or passwords through the form.
- No enquiry is passed to a vendor named on the board.

How to reach us
Questions about the site go to Contact or enquiries@sellemailarchivetoai.com. Terms of use are on Terms, and how we handle data is on Privacy.
No archiving vendor, mail service or buyer pays to be listed here, and no link earns a commission. Every answer is our reading of a published document, not legal advice on your own contract. How we are paid: when a company licenses its mail to a buyer we introduced, it pays us 12.5% of that deal, with a minimum, where we act as its exclusive agent, or 10%, with a minimum, when its mail goes into a bundle or the pool, both agreed in writing beforehand; a fee a buyer pays us is credited to the company.
